Internal Code is referring to the computer storage address of the characters and symbols. There are two major Chinese Internal code systems, one is the Big5 Code, and the other is the GB Code. The differences is the number of Chinese characters definition and the storage address. The similarity is that both are using 4 hexadecimal digits to register the storage address to a Chinese character or a symbol. The storage address for Big5 code symbols start at A140, and the Chinese characters start at A440; while the GB code symbols start at A1A1, and the Chinese characters start at B0A1.

Since the symbol characters begin on A140 or A1A1(4 hexadecimal digits), then use the ¡õ or ¡ô key to page through the list to find your target symbol.
The initial default set up for the Internal Code input is: after typing the complete code for a Chinese character or symbol, it will be send into the application program at the cursor position automatically. Please refer to previous section for details in the Internal Code Configuration dialog box.

UnionWay Asian system provides this option to use the Clipboard as a stepping board to inputting Chinese, Japanese and Korean words, avoiding the Auto Correct (or Auto Spelling Check) feature that is in some of the word processing application program such as MS-Word, WordPerfect, etc.
The Auto Correct feature often make some unwanted correction to the CJK words causing erroneous display. With this option enabled, the input to the word processor is actually first made to the clipboard, then sending the same input into the word processing program. Since the input is coming from the clipboard, the Auto Correct feature will not make additional changes to the input. Of course, you can also turn off the Auto Correct feature in the word processing program to avoid correction completely.
If you want to know how to turn off Auto Correct feature in the MS-Word, please read the
Q & A Chapter.
